Paintballer Starter Guide

Getting started in Paintball

If you’ve come to this page, it’s because you’re interested in paintball and want to invest.
However, you’re still at a loss, and a few points remain to be clarified, particularly
clarified. Good news, we’re going to try and guide you through this page so that you can
to get you off to a good start with quality equipment that’s just right for you !

Woodsball or Speedballย : Which kind of fieldย ?

There are two distinct types of paintball : Woodsball and Speedball (mostly inflatable bunkers).
Are you a fan of Call Of Duty, Fall Of The Black Hawk and want to put all your years of video game
video games into practice ? Then woodball is for you! Weapon replicas, modern combat tactics
and camouflage will be your allies on the battlefield !
Are you a competitor at heart ? Do you like fast sequences and a fast-paced style of play ?
Opt for Speedball and its symmetrical fields, where points follow one another at a frantic pace and balls
balls fly in all directions !
If you’re still undecided, don’t worry – we’ve got THE solution ! Come and try it out for a day
on our field in the Paris region at the Paintball Parc de Pomponne, try out both types of game and leave with a clearer idea of idea of the type of launcher and equipment you’ll need.

Markersย & accessoriesย :

Paintball Marker

Today, there are two main families of paintball launchers, which differ in terms of how they work :

Mechanicsย :

The basis. Robust, reliable and easy-to-maintain launchers. Note, however, that
their rate of fire is limited by the speed of your fingers. One pull on the trigger equals one
ball fired. The faster you are, the faster the launcher will fire !
These launchers are preferred for small budgets or first-time buyers.
Here are a few examples of mechanical launchers and our “ready-to-play” packs.

Electronics :

No frills here, this is the family of launchers preferred by competitors. The launcher is operated by a solenoid valve, so firing will be smoother, more accurate (because less recoil with optimized airflow) and, above all, you’ll be able to reach astronomical speeds – an electronic launcher can easily reach 10 BPS ! Watch out for battery consumption AND paintball !

More expensive than mechanics, they also require special maintenance. Don’t worry, if this is your first purchase, CAMP and its staff of seasoned players will be able to advise and assist you with the maintenance of your new companion !

Compressed Air Bottle :

It will store a certain volume of compressed air to enable your paintball Marker to fire.
The greater the volume, the greater the range of your Paintball Marker. You may have heard of
of CO2 cylinders, but these no longer exist, so we’ll only be talking about air
like the one you breathe, but compressed to a certain pressure to reduce its bulk.
There are two types of compressed air cylinders on the market :

๏‚ท Aluminiumย : Typically stores 0.8 liters of air at 200 bar pressure (3000PSI). Low cost, however, it will be heavier and offer less autonomy than its composite big brother. It is ideally mounted on mechanical Markers.
๏‚ท Compositeย : The average storage capacity is around 1.1 liters of air at 300 bar pressure
pressure (4500PSI). This higher pressure makes it possible to store a larger volume of air
while keeping dimensions to a minimum and weight down, thanks in particular to the
materials used. It will generally be used on electronic Paintball Markers that consume more air
than their mechanical counterparts.

Nota Bene: The difference in pressure between these two cylinders does not change the speed or pain of impact. It’s purely and simply a question of autonomy, as would be the case with a 60
compared with a 100-liter gas tank in a car.

Loaderย :

Usually mounted above the launcher, it will feed the launcher with balls throughout the game. There are two types of loader:

Gravity Loaderย : It doesn’t use any particular mechanism other than gravity to lower the balls
into your launcher’s firing chamber. They are low costs (between โ‚ฌ5 and โ‚ฌ15) and are usually
mounted on mechanical Markers, despite some models like the Planet Eclipse PAL can achieve higher rates. Robust and reliable, their only limit is the speed speed and regularity of the paintballs feed in the feeder.

Loader Electronicย : A motor located in the loader’s hull turns a small propeller inside the loader to force the logs downwards inside the loader to force the bead downwards and enable regular, uninterrupted firing. These tanks are used on electronic launchers where gravity alone is insufficient.
is not enough. Firing speeds can then exceed 30 balls per second !
